Luke to return as European captain for Ryder Cup

After leading Europe to a conclusive triumph at the Ryder Cup outside Rome in the past month, Luke Donald will return as captain at Bethpage Black in the Big Apple in 2025.

He will be the 1^st repeat captain of Europe since Bernard Gallacher did so in 3 consecutive games from 1991 to 1995.

Two more years, anyone?

“Great chances don’t come along a lot of times in life, and I’m a great believer that an opportunity presents itself, you must grab them with both hands — this is 1 of these moments,” Donald shared after the news of his captaincy.

“I’ve been lucky as a golfer to have had many fantastic times in the Ryder Cup during the editions, and so to add being a triumphing captain to that, to form bonds with the 12 golfers as we did in Rome and to win the tournament, was an unforgettable experience.”
