The Red Devils defender Harry Maguire will miss this weekend’s EPL trip to Chelsea after receiving an additional 1-game suspension after his red card against the Cherries in March.
Maguire was sent off and conceded a penalty late in the game in the 2-2 draw vs. Bournemouth for pulling down Evanilson in the penalty area. The defender was later charged with improper conduct by the FA for something he said to the 4th referee as he was leaving the pitch.
In addition to a 1-game ban, Harry has also been fined 30,000 pounds by the Football Association in England.
Man United will also be without another defender, Lisandro Martinez, against Chelsea as the Argentinian was shown a red card for violent conduct for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair a few days ago in the 2-1 loss against Leeds, which Harry missed through a ban.
The Red Devils head coach, Michael Carrick, claimed it was 1 of the worst decisions he has seen and revealed that the team will appeal against Lisandro’s send-off.
Matthijs de Ligt will also be sidelined for the game at Stamford Bridge as the Dutch defender deals with a long-term back injury.
