Malone’s new contract comes after he led his organization to the 2023 NBA championship, the 1st in Nuggets history. Michael’s long-standing partnership with the franchise’s superstar and 2-time MVP, Nikola Jokic – has led to great success for Denver in the past years as the team seemed ready to compete for the title in the next few years.
Nuggets boss who has led the team West Conference-leading 8-2 record to begin the new campaign – spent 8 years lifting the organization out of the lottery, into the postseason and, finally, to a National Basketball League championship. The Nuggets’ 16-4 run in the 2023 postseason was the NBA’s most dominant since the Golden State Warriors in 2017.
Malone is the NBA’s 4th longest-tenured manager in the league, behind only Gregg Popovich, Erik Spoelstra, and Steve Kerr.
