The Red Devils had to work hard to bag precious 3 points for the top 4 race

Manchester United defeated stubborn Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute with an excellent finish, which rounded off a great team play from Bruno Fernandes and Antony prior.

Wolves started the second half better than they did in the first, creating some opportunities in front of goal, but were lacking the finishing touch.

Eventually the Red Devils doubled their lead deep into stoppage time through substitute Alejandro Garnacho, who came in Jadon Sancho’s place.

It was a vital win for United, who put an end to their horrendous recent form, which saw them lose 2 Premier League games in a row, putting them in danger of dropping out of top 4.

As things stand, Erik Ten Hag’s men find themselves level on points with third-placed Newcastle United, who drew Leeds earlier in the afternoon, and are 4 points clear of Liverpool in 5th. All 3 teams have three games left to play till the end of season.
