Legendary Dutch goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has been admitted to hospital due to a brain haemorrhage, Ajax announced, where the 52-year-old former football player worked until recently as a director.
“On Friday, Edwin van der Sar suffered a hemorrhage around his brain. He is currently in hospital in intensive care and is in a stable condition. A news update will follow as more concrete information becomes available. Everyone at Ajax wishes Edwin a speedy recovery. You are in our thoughts”, reads the statement of the Amsterdam club on social networks.
On Friday, Edwin van der Sar has had a bleeding around his brain. He’s currently in hospital in the intensive care unit and is in a stable condition.

According to information from Dutch journalist Mike Verwey, Van der Sar’s hemorrhage occurred while he was on vacation in Croatia. He was rushed to a hospital in Split by helicopter.
