The team from Old Trafford and Marseille are in advanced discussions over a loan deal with a buying clause that would see Mason Greenwood play in the Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old attacker played in the past campaign on loan in La Liga with Getafe, netting 10 goals in 36 matches for his club, but had been due to return to the Red Devils for preseason training in the upcoming days due to his deal still having 1 year left.

Mason was at United’s Carrington training ground today to meet with the new executives’ team, and talks were held with the focus of finding him a new team. The forward didn’t train with the rest of the squad.
He has not played for the Red Devils since being suspended by the team at the beginning of 2022 after being arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, but later, all of the charges against Greenwood were dropped. Despite that, Manchester United didn’t give him a chance to play for them.
