The battle for Marc Guehi’s signature is heating up, with Manchester City now preparing to rival Liverpool for the Crystal Palace defender.
The England international as close as it can be joining the Reds in the summer, only for Palace to block the £35 million move at the last moment on deadline day.
With Guehi’s contract expiring next summer, he is certainly leaving the London side as a free agent. According to The Mirror, City are now weighing a swoop of their own, having kept their distance during the last window when a Liverpool deal looked certain.
Pep Guardiola’s side are understood to be keen admirers of the 24-year-old and could step in once he becomes available as a free agent.

Unlike Premier League rivals, those clubs can begin negotiations with Guehi in January and potentially secure him on a pre-contract agreement, giving them an early advantage.
