Man United have dismissed boss Ruben Amorim, with the team planning to appoint a caretaker head coach until the end of the campaign.
Ex-midfielder Darren Fletcher will lead the club for Wednesday’s EPL match vs. Burnley. He will remain until the Red Devils appoint a caretaker manager until the end of the season, as they plan to name a permanent successor to the Portuguese manager in the summer.

A few days ago, Ruben revealed that his relationship with the directors was strained, and they didn’t support him in the transfer market.
Yesterday, Manchester United finished 1-1 with Leeds, and after the match, Amorim claimed that he wants to work as a manager, not a coach, and was ready to leave the club after his deal expired in half a year.
And today, the team from Old Trafford sacked Ruben: “With our club in the 6th place in the EPL, the team’s leadership has reluctantly made the decision that now is the moment for a change.”
Amorim became Manchester United’s head coach in November 2024 as the Red Devils paid 11 million euros to Sporting to trigger a release clause in his deal.
