Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 at Metropolitano Stadium, but with an aggregate score of 3-2, the team from the Spanish capital advanced to the ½ finals of the Champions League after they won the 1st leg in Catalonia 2-0.
Hansi Flick’s side finished both matches with 10 men on the pitch, as this time Eric Garcia was sent off in the 79th minute.
Barca began the match better and dominated from the 1st minute as they opened the score after only 4 minutes as Ferran Torres found Lamine Yamal, and the Catalan side’s young superstar scored.
The dominance of the visiting team continued, and they scored another goal in the 24th minute as Ferran Torres did it after Dani Olmo’s assist.
However, one counterattack was enough for Atletico as Marcos Llorente provided a phenomenal assist to Marcos Llorente in the 31st minute, and the Nigerian forward scored as that goal was enough for his team to reach the ½ finals of the UCL.
In the 2nd half, Ferran Torres thought that he had scored his 2nd goal in the match in the 55th minute, but his goal was disallowed for an offside, and with no more goals until the end of the match, the home side celebrated with advancing further in the tournament.
