The Catalan side will be unable to count on another key footballer against Deportivo Alavés at the weekend.
After a series of defensive injuries for Barca, they now have another, with Marc Casadó confirmed out for almost 2 months.
The mood was optimistic for the LaLiga defending champions at the beginning of the week about Jules Koundé’s return. However, that changed quickly as the French defender is not ready to play and will miss the upcoming match in the league.
Jules missed both of Barca’s losses against PSG in the UCL and Real Madrid in the league due to the injury.
With Eric García, Andreas Christensen and Casadó out, the French player’s fitness mattered to the manager. However, Hansi Flick must play his next match with only João Cancelo, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín and Alejandro Balde available on defense.
Jules Koundé has been RULED OUT of Saturday’s match against Alavés. His left ankle sprain has not improved sufficiently, and the club decided not to risk aggravating the injury. @ffpolo | MD https://t.co/awJQGhQfCj
