The Maple Leafs’ captain status was up in the air after he exited in the 2nd period of Tuesday’s match vs. the Bruins after a hit from behind by Boston’s defenseman Nikita Zadorov. The Canadian team welcomes the Kings tonight.
“There is a chance that Auston could be back on the ice sooner than a week,” began his head coach. “This is from the problems that you could feel a lot better after a day or two, but in the worst case, he could be out for a week. We must wait to see how things will go.”
Zadorov shared after the clash against the Boston Bruins that, according to him, there was a penalty when Matthew sustained his injury.
That will be Auston’s 1st injury-related absence of the campaign after he missed 15 matches in the past season.
