“Dylan has been a big contributor to our team over the past four seasons,” said Justin Hollander, Mariners executive vice president and general manager of baseball operations.
“His defensive versatility, athleticism, proficiency both on the bases and with the bat versus left-handed pitching, are key elements to how our roster works. As such, we are thrilled that we were able to work out a deal that recognizes the importance of the role he plays.”
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but according to media reports it is worth $8.875 million with escalators that could elevate the value to $9 million.
The 30-year-old Moore has been a Swiss army knife for the Mariners, playing every position except catcher in his four-year career.
He’s mostly been used in left field (110 appearances) and second base (106). He even pitched one inning in 2019.
