The defender is expected to return to training in the upcoming days

Speaking in front of the press before the final day in the Premier League season, Manchester United’s manager Erik Ten Hag gave update about the condition and fitness of Lisandro Martinez.

The Dutchman expressed his hope that the defender will be back at Carrington in the upcoming days and will be available for the pre-season campaign.

“I am expecting Lisandro Martinez back at the club in the coming days. He will be ready for the start of pre-season.” he said.

Martinez suffered a metatarsal fracture in Europa League’s 1st leg 1/4 final against Sevilla in mid-April and was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

The Argentinian has enjoyed a prolific debut season with the Red Devils, featuring in 45 games after a £47m move from Ajax last summer. He has been the backbone in United’s defense and has contributed massively for the significant progress the Old Trafford has made since the arrival of new manager Ten Hag.
