In a decisive Game 6 of the Western Conference series, the Dallas Mavericks delivered a commanding 114-101 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, securing their spot in the second round of the playoffs.
Kyrie Irving led the charge for the Mavericks with a stellar performance, scoring 28 of his 30 points in the second half. Luka Doncic also played a crucial role, contributing 28 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds.
Dallas will now face the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the next round, setting the stage for an exciting matchup.
P.J. Washington chipped in 14 points for the Mavericks, while Daniel Gafford added 13 and Dereck Lively II provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Despite a strong effort from the Clippers, who were without Kawhi Leonard due to a knee injury, they couldn’t overcome the Mavericks’ offensive firepower. Norman Powell led the Clippers’ bench scoring with 20 points, followed by Paul George with 18 points.

Ivica Zubac posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Los Angeles, while James Harden contributed 16 points, 13 assists, and seven boards. Terance Mann also made an impact with 14 points.
The game took a toll on both teams, with Dallas losing forward Maxi Kleber to a right shoulder sprain early in the second quarter. Despite the injury setback, the Mavericks maintained their composure and shot 48.2 percent from the field, including 12 of 36 from beyond the arc. Irving showcased his long-range prowess with five 3-pointers, while Washington added four.
On the other hand, the Clippers struggled from deep, connecting on just 8 of 31 attempts from behind the arc.
