Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison is expected to be dismissed today, as the assistant GMs Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi will replace him until his successor is found.
Nico has been under fire from Dallas supporters since he stunningly traded Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers at the beginning of February, months removed from the time the Slovenian led the organization to the NBA Finals.
In that exchange, in which the Mavericks got Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 1st-round selection, the supporters of Dallas protested.
The Mavs’ record had been 182-157 during Nico’s 4+ years as general manager of the franchise, which was highlighted by appearances at the 2022 West Conference Finals and the NBA Finals 2 years after that.
After the Mavs traded Doncic, Harrison shared that this improves the chances of the team winning the championship, claiming that in the next 4 years, Dallas will be a contender.

“Defense gives you trophies,” Nico shared after the trade of the Slovenian superstar for Anthony Davis. However, the center career didn’t start well with the Mavericks as he has suffered from different injuries since the trade.
