The Canadian NHL franchise was relatively quiet in free agency this campaign, as the top inking was the forward Connor Brown to a 1-year, 775,000 dollars deal with up to more than 3 million dollars available in matches appeared bonuses.
The forward will reunite with the organization’s superstar Connor McDavid after the pair were OHL teammates with the Erie Otters from 2012-14.
“In my opinion, he’s a great fit for our team,” McDavid shared yesterday in Brown joining Edmonton. “I think he will be useful on and off the ice as his presence in the dressing room is solid.
“When all is said and done, I expect only positive things with the Brown’s addition.”
The new forward is coming off a torn ACL he suffered after only 4 matches into the past campaign with the Washington Capitals. Before that, he played for the Ottawa Senators for 3 seasons, notching a career-high 21 goals in 2020-21.
