Nicolas Otamendi scored the 1st goal in the match early in the match to give his nation the lead after the 1st 45 minutes. Messi looked great during his 40 minutes on the pitch as he had a perfect chance to score, but he hit the post after a free kick in the final minutes of the match.
“I’m happy to be on the pitch again … It is always difficult when you come from the bench in such a tight match,” Messi claimed after the win. The Argentinian superstar added that he’s just satisfied that Argentina triumphed.
