Mexico and Panama qualified for the Gold Cup final. The Mexicans won 3:0 over Jamaica, and in the other semi-final, Panama eliminated the USA on penalties. The title fight will take place on July 16 in Inglewood.
Jamaica had not lost since the beginning of the tournament, but against the Aztecs they received a goal in the 2nd minute, the work of Henry Martin, and until the end they were not able to respond properly.
The Mexicans controlled what was happening on the pitch and in the 30th minute they doubled their lead through Luis Chavez. The point of contention was put by reserve Roberto Alvarado in the last seconds.
There was much more drama in the clash between the USA and Panama. Both teams created a lot of chances in regular time, but no goal was scored. Two of the Panamanians’ goals were disallowed for offsides, but in overtime Ivan Andersson opened the scoring after an assist from Adalberto Karaschia.
However, the USA equalized in the 105th minute with an accurate shot by Jesus Ferreira.

Unlike in the quarterfinals against Canada, this time the US failed in the penalties. Goal scorer Ferreira and Cristian Roldan made mistakes. Only Cristian Martinez did not score for Panama from the penalty spot and this sent Panama to the Gold Cup final for the first time since 2013.
