The beginning of the match was boring until the 26th minute when El Hadji Malick Diouf received a red card and left the visiting side with 10 players on the pitch.
Olivier Giroud scored after an excellent lofted pass from Rafael Leao to give Milan the lead in the 34th minute. However, only 2 minutes later, David Doudera shocked the home side after he netted after a rebound to tie the result.
However, Rossoneri scored twice within 2 minutes and had a 3-1 lead after the 1st half. Alessandro Florenzi provided 2 assists after corners – 1st to Tijjani Reijnders, who beat the goalkeeper with a nice shot into the bottom left corner to make it 2-1, and then to Ruben Loftus-Cheek who scored to make it 3-1 in the extra time of the 1st half.
Even with 10 men at San Siro, Slavia scored 2nd goal in the 65th to make its trail only 1 goal as Ivan Schranz netted it, but in the end, Milan will travel for the 2nd leg with 2 goals lead as Christian Pulisic scored in the 85th minute after Rafael Leao’s assist.
