In the 5th minute, the Magpies were forced to make a substitution after Matt Targett picked up an injury and Miguel Almiron replaced him. Lewis Hall doubled the visiting team’s lead with his goal in the 36th minute as the Magpies finished the 1st half with a 2-goal lead.
Joe Willock scored after a fantastic shot in the 60th minute to make it 3-0 for the Magpies after Joelinton’s assist and sent the home team fans home earlier as, at this point, it became clear that the Red Devils will lose and will be eliminated from the EFL Cup.
