Newcastle defeated Aston Villa 3-1 at Villa Park and ended an awful period with 4 losses in a row in the Premier League.

Fabian Schar scored a brace in the 1st half – in the 32nd and the 36th minutes, to shock the home team and give a 2-goal lead to Newcastle after the 1st 45 minutes of the match. Ollie Watkins netted in the 71st minute after Leon Bailey’s assist to make Aston Villa’s trail 2 goals.

Newcastle are 7th in the Premier League with 32 points after 22 matches – 11 points behind 4th place Aston Villa despite beating them today.

Aston Villa are in the 4th place in the league with 43 points after 22 games as that was 2nd straight match without a victory for Unai Emery’s side.
