Newcastle strongly desires to add the Sky Blues player Kalvin Phillips to their squad during the winter transfer window.
The team from St James’ Park wants to ink with a midfielder in January after their top summer transfer, Sandro Tonali, will be out until the end of the campaign after being suspended for gambling.
Newcastle to push ahead with January move for Kalvin Phillips.
There are a number of sides keen on the English international, but Newcastle are well placed to land him.@90min_Football with @SeanDZWalsh

The Magpies wanted to ink Kalvin even before Sandro’s ban, but now a reinforcement in the midfield is a must for the side. The Sky Blues have already given the green light to their English midfielder to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.
Because of the Financial Fair Play, the Magpies will likely add Kalvin on loan. Manchester City don’t have a problem with that in case Newcastle includes a must-buy option for the summer.
Phillips is still part of the English national team for all 3 international windows, and he wants to play regularly from January to have a chance to play in Euro 2024 in Germany.
