Darwin suffered a hamstring problem during his team’s 4-3 loss against the Red Devils in the ¼ finals of the FA Cup at the end of the weekend. Nunez played the full 120 minutes and provided an assist for Alexis Mac Allister but made a mistake that led to Marcus Rashford’s equalizer to make it 3-3 and force extra time.
After the clash, his manager revealed that Darwin, as well as Diaz and Gakpo – had picked up knocks during the match.
“Now, the footballers will be with their national teams. We wish they come back healthy. Luis felt his groin, Nunez’s hamstring. Cody twisted his ankle,” the Reds head coach shared.
Darwin discussed his problem with his national manager, Marcelo Bielsa, and Nunez will be given time to rest and heal completely as he will be much more needed in the summer for Copa America in the USA.
