Chelsea announced their eight summer signing – Romeo Lavia from Southampton.
The Blues will pay $74 million for the 19-year old defensive midfielder. He comes at Stamford Bridge to be a competition to their other big summer signing – Moises Caicedo, who was bought from Brighton for $146 million.
With Lavia’s deal Chelsea have now spent over $434 million this summer, after bringing in Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Nicolas Jackson, Lesley Ugochukwu, Robert Sanchez and Angelo Gabriel.

With their new signing, Chelsea’ s midfield depth is looking the strongest in the Premier League, having Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Lesley Ugochukwu, Lavia, Andrey Santos, Conor Gallagher and Carney Chukwuemeka at their disposal.
