Sir Jim Ratcliffe has officially become a part-time owner of Manchester United as he agrees a deal for 25% stake at the club.
The deal has been estimated to be around £1.25bn and as a result his Ineos Group will take over the club’s football operations.
The 71-year-old has also confirmed he will provide the Red Devils with $300m for future investment.

The news comes after a turbulent year at Old Trafford as the Glazers family announced they will be selling the club 13 months ago. Ratcliffe was in stern competition with Qatari Sheikh as a prime candidate for stake’s holder.
Eventually, the Qatar investment group dropped out, but that still didn’t guarantee the British billionaire a success. In the end, he has taken 25% and will be part of a huge rebuild inside Old Trafford.
