The youngster showed his potential at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix

Oliver Bearman is determined to turn his recent Formula 1 debut into a permanent seat next year, aiming to fulfill his “childhood dream.” The 18-year-old made history as the youngest Briton to start a grand prix when he stepped in for Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Despite facing the challenges of a whirlwind weekend, Bearman finished ahead of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, leaving a significant impression. Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc believes it’s only a matter of time before Bearman secures a regular spot in F1, and former world champion Damon Hill dubbed him a “star.”

Bearman, a member of the Ferrari driver academy since 2021, is eyeing a permanent role with the team. Looking ahead to the possibility of joining the F1 grid in 2025, Bearman acknowledges the importance of his performance in Formula 2 this year.

Reflecting on his journey and the support from the Ferrari team, Bearman expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s great to have recognition. It just makes you want to keep pushing, and it would be amazing to race here full-time one day.”
