Olympiacos beat Fiorentina after extra time to win UECL

Olympiacos Piraeus defeated Fiorentina 1-0 at OPAP Arena in Athens and won the 2024 Europa Conference League.

In the 1^st half of the match the Violets had the better chances to score but they missed them and the result remained 0-0. In the 2^nd half, both teams were very careful, and we didn’t see any chances in front of the goals.

However, in the extra time, in the 116^th minute Ayoub El Kaabi netted to make Olympiacos the 1^st Greece’s club-level team to win a continental title as they handled Fiorentina’s 2^nd straight UECL final loss in Athens.

El Kaabi scored his 33^rd goal of the campaign to secure the title for the Athens team in their city. That was Olympiacos’ first-ever European title, while Fiorentina was beaten again in the final of that competition.
