Carolina Panthers reportedly secured a five-year, $100 million deal with Miami Dolphins free agent offensive guard Robert Hunt on Monday. The agreement includes a $26.5 million signing bonus, with the official joining scheduled for Wednesday, the start of the new league year.
A versatile athlete at 6-6, 335 pounds, Hunt, a 2020 second-round pick, has demonstrated proficiency both as a starting guard and right tackle for the Dolphins. At an annual salary of $20 million, Hunt now ranks among the highest-paid players in his position across the NFL.
In line with the Panthers’ commitment to strengthening blocking for quarterback Bryce Young, first-year head coach Dave Canales stressed the importance of bolstering the run game during the NFL Scouting Combine.

To create additional cap space, safety Vonn Bell was released on Monday before a $3 million roster bonus was due, according to multiple reports. This move allows Carolina to gain $1.05 million in cap relief for the 2024 season. Bell, who joined the Panthers in free agency last March, spent just one season with the team, missing four games in 2023 after starting 48 consecutive games in the previous three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. With 705 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and seven interceptions in 122 career games, Bell brings a wealth of experience to his position.
