The New York Rangers player was part of the final 19 matches of an 8th season, 84 million dollars contract with the franchise last campaign. The team from the Big Apple acquired Patrick from the Chicago Blackhawks in February, as he played 1,161 matches for the Chicago franchise before his trade.
Kane will likely recover fully, but he will be a free agent at the end of the month, and it is still unclear if the surgery will affect his new deal.
