The New England Patriots have endured a torrid 2023 campaign, recording only 4 wins and 12 losses, which is the worst record in manager Bill Belichik’s whole career.
It came after a disappointing 27-21 defeat to Buffalo Bills, a game, which didn’t matter, but still underlined New England’s poor form.
The Patriots had long been out of contention from playoff berth but they could have continued to torment their AFC East rivals, whom they’d already beaten once this season. A win would have eliminated Buffalo from the division race and left it with a 50/50 chance of missing the playoffs.
Belichik’s worst record have come in 1995 with Cleveland and in his first year with New England in 2000 – both 5-11.
There is one game remaining and the 71-year-old will be keen on winning it as he is fighting for his job.
