The home side jumped to eight place, while Spurs are fifth

Brighton secured a remarkable 4-2 victory against Tottenham in the Premier League clash at the Amex Stadium. Despite Spurs initially dominating possession, the hosts seized control as teenager Jack Hinshelwood netted a roof-of-the-net goal after Joao Pedro freely traversed the 18-yard line.

Pedro extended the Seagulls’ lead from the penalty spot after Dejan Kulusevski fouled Danny Welbeck in the box. Brighton pressed relentlessly, hitting the post through James Milner and having a disallowed goal by Facundo Buonanotte for offside. Richarlison also hit the woodwork for the visitors.

Spurs failed to register a shot on target in the first half but showed improvement in the second. Richarlison had two goals disallowed for offside. However, Brighton secured the win with Pervis Estupinan’s spectacular 25-yard dipping shot into the top corner less than a minute after Richarlison’s second disallowed goal.

Pedro added a fourth from the spot after Evan Ferguson was brought down in the area. Despite Tottenham’s late attempts at a comeback with goals from Alejo Veliz and Ben Davies, they couldn’t convert numerous other chances. The victory propels Brighton to eighth place, overtaking Newcastle, while Spurs remain fifth, one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
