Even with Rodri, who plays at his position, suspended, Kalvin remained on the bench in the matches vs. Wolverhampton and Arsenal.
Phillips joined the Premier League champions for almost 53 million dollars from Leeds in 2022 to compete with Rodri for the midfield position. However, with the Spanish player serving a ban for matches, it still didn’t mean that Phillips would play for Manchester City.
Kalvin played only 1 clash from the 1st minute on the pitch this campaign, but it was in the Carabao Cup, and his team lost 1-0 to Newcastle and was eliminated from the tournament.
