Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Chelsea’s problems stem from within the team as the Blues suffered yet another disappointing 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton.
Despite the results it was the Blues with the initiative as they created plenty of opportunities in front of goal, but could not convert them.
Pochettino shared that his team has only themselves to blame for the wasted chances.
“We made mistakes. We need to blame ourselves. That is why we didn’t win. We had the chances to score,” said Pochettino. “We are our own enemy. Today, we lost the game.”
“We feel very disappointed because I think we deserve much more. This competition wounds you when you are not clinical enough. We created chances. That is why it is so disappointing. We conceded after a few corners and it was really difficult.”
The result leaves Chelsea stuck in 10th place, 7 points adrift from a spot, which will guarantee them European football next season.
