Rangers defeat Islanders 5-2 in New York’s derby

Jonny Brodzinski notched the go-ahead goal in the 2^nd period, and the NY Rangers won against the New York Islanders 5-2 at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.

Mika Zibanejad, Will Cuylle, Kaapo Kakko, and Alexis Lafreniere also notched for the winning franchise, as the team won 5 of their last 6 matches. Igor Shesterkin stopped 25 shots.

“Our franchise is deep at the moment,” Rangers forward Vincent Trocheck shared after the victory in the Big Apple’s derby.

Bo Horvat notched 2 goals, Ilya Sorokin stopped 26 shots, but Isles lost their 4^th straight match.

Rangers notched 3 goals in the 2^nd period to erase a 1-goal trail and take the lead.
