Marcus Rashford is enduring a difficult campaign, finding the back of the net only once in 16 starts for Manchester United.
His struggles have been underlined in his performances for the national team as the 26-year-old was visibly under-par against Malta.
That has led to claims from former Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood that the forward should be left out for the upcoming Euro 2024 next summer.
Sherwood believes Red Devils manager Erik Ten Hag is the main culprit behind Rashford’s poor showing of late.
“No, not a chance.” Sherwood said, when asked if Rashford should start for England
“He can thank his manager for playing his way out of the England team, unfortunately.”
“I think there’s not going to be a turnaround between now and the end of the season, unfortunately, and I think he can thank Ten Hag for that because he’s not been good enough.”
