Real beat Ath Bilbao 2-0 to regain an 8-point lead at the top

Rodrygo scored a phenomenal goal from the edge of the box into the top right corner in the 8^th minute after a fantastic assist from Brahim Diaz to give the home side the lead.

In the 2^nd half, Real Madrid deserved a penalty but the referee didn’t give it because of an offside but the replays showed that the ball ended in Los Blancos player after Bilbao player returned the ball. Despite that, the home side doubled its lead in the 73^rd minute when Rodrygo scored his 2^nd goal in the match after Jude Bellingham’s assist.

Eder Militao made his return in the extra time as the Brazilian replaced Daniel Carvajal as that was his 1^st match in La Liga since round 1 when he suffered a torn ACL.
