Real Madrid fail to beat Rayo at Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid had the opportunity to move to the 1^st place in La Liga, but they failed to do so after a goalless draw at home against Ray Vallecano, who have now gone undefeated in 8 matches in a row for the 1^st time in their history.

The Royal Club beat Barcelona 2-1 last week, and the expectations today were for an easy victory against Rayo at the Bernabéu.

Federico Valverde had a great chance to score for Los Blancos in the 6^th minute of the game, but Stole Dimitrievski saved his shot.

In the 2^nd half, Vinicius Junior scored, but his goal was disallowed because forward Joselu was clearly offside during the attack. Rodrygo and Alaba had chances to score after that, but they missed their opportunities, too, and Los Blancos failed to find a way to score a goal against Vallecano.

Real Madrid is in 2^nd place with 29 points after 12 matches – 2 more than 3^rd Barcelona but 2 behind leader Girona, while Rayo Vallecano is in 9^th place with 18 points.
