Kylian Mbappé is set to miss three weeks of action due to a thigh injury, a source has informed ESPN. The injury was sustained during Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Alavés, where Mbappé scored a crucial goal but was substituted in the 80th minute after experiencing discomfort in his left leg.

Initially, coach Carlo Ancelotti downplayed the injury, calling it a “knock” and noting that Mbappé had requested to be substituted to prevent further complications. However, after medical tests, Real Madrid confirmed the French forward has an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg.
As a result, Mbappé will be sidelined for three weeks, ruling him out of key matches, including this weekend’s Madrid derby against Atlético Madrid. He will also miss Real Madrid’s Champions League tie against Lille and a La Liga fixture with Villarreal, in addition to France’s upcoming international matches.
Real Madrid currently sit second in La Liga with 17 points, trailing Barcelona. Atlético Madrid, who face Celta Vigo before the derby, have 12 points from six games. Mbappé’s absence will be a significant blow to Madrid, given his improved form this season, where he has already netted five league goals, including a standout performance against Alavés.
