Chelsea’s Reece James has been sent to a precautionary knee scan ahead of the Blues scheduled travel to the USA as part of their pre-season tour.
The London team will play four friendlies, starting off with Wrexham in North Carolina on Wednesday.
However, the Blues may be dealt a setback after news emerged that defender Reece James is set to undergo knee scan. Nothing serious at the moment, but the 23-year-old is no stranger to unexpected injuries having sat out most of last season, when he registered only 14 appearances.
A knee injury ruled him out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Chelsea will be led by new manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is expected to bring back the glory days at Stamford Bridge after a disastrous campaign, which saw the Blues slump to 12th place finish.
