The Euro champions went on a world record 37-match undefeated run but didn’t qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.
Roberto inked a deal until 2027. His debut as Saudi Arabia boss will be on September 8th vs. Costa Rica at St James’ Park, Newcastle.
“I think this is a perfect job for me, to experience this game in a new country, especially with the growing popularity of football in Asia,” the Italian head coach shared.
“The presence of elite players in the Saudi Pro League shows the potential for growth in the world football scene.”
The Italian won Manchester City’s 1st Premier League title in 2012.
