Rory McIlroy has revealed that he would love to be the European Ryder Cup captain in 1 day, but not until after 2030.
He is competing in his 1st tournament in India now, as Rory is returning to competitions after helping Europe beat the USA in the Big Apple in the past month and retain the title.
McIlroy talked about this moment and shared with the media that he would like to be the captain of the European team someday: “Without a doubt, it would be fantastic to be the captain at the Ryder Cup someday, and I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to play under some of the best captains during my time in that competition.”
However, Rory added that he doesn’t want this to happen very soon, as he wants to continue to play at the highest level, and that he aims to be captain of Team Europe at the Ryder Cup in the mid-2030s if possible.
"The Americans would hit it close, we would hit it closer. The Americans would hole a putt, we'd hole a putt on top of them and it just happened every single time."
