Rybakina continues in Florida, aiming at a "Sunshine Double"
						
						No. 10 Miami seeded Elena Rybakina hit 10 aces to eliminate Belgium’s Elise Mertens 6-4, 6-3 in 106 minutes to record a career-high 11th consecutive win after lifting the trophy in Indian Wells ten days ago and remains hopeful to become the fifth competitor with the so-called “Sunshine Double” with titles from the two major March tournaments in the USA.
“It was really quite a tough match. I didn’t start in the best way, but I’m happy to get to the win in two sets.”, she said after the game.
Australian Open winner and No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus also advances after an emphatic 6-3, 6-2 win over No. 16 Barbora Krejcikova, recording her 20th win in 22 matches of the year.
