In a repeat of last year’s final, the match took a similar turn, but this time around it was the Tunisian, who was trailing after the first set only to turn the game around.
The number six seed clinched the second set with a clutch break at 5-4, before trashing Rybakina in the decisive one 6-1.
Overall, it was a deserving victory for Jabeur as she was the more aggressive and persistent player with 35 winners to Rybakna’s 21.

The Tunisian will face Sabalenka in the 1/2 finals after the Belarusian breeze past Madison Keys earlier in the day.
“I said I am going for my shots because if you try to go easy with her it is not going to work,” Jabeur said.
“It is not easy playing her but I wish we could exchange this match for the finals last year.”
