The Reds defeated the Toffees 2-0 at Anfield.

Liverpool beat Everton 2-0 at Anfield in the Merseyside derby, but Klopp’s side needed a penalty in the 75th minute to take the lead against an opponent who played with 10 men since the 37th minute.

The most interesting moment in the 1st half came in the 37th minute when Ashley Young received 2nd yellow card in the 37th minute and left his teammates with a man down against the Reds at Anfield. Young got his 1st yellow card in the 18th minute for roughness.

Despite being with 1 man more on the pitch, Liverpool needed to wait until the 75th minute to take the lead when Mohamed Salah converted a penalty. The home side received the penalty after VAR sent the main referee to the monitor, and he decided to give Klopp’s team a penalty for handball. Salah scored his 2nd goal in the extra time and secured the victory for the Reds.

Liverpool is in 1st place with 20 points after 9 matches, while Everton is in 16th place with 7 points after 9 games.
