Samsonov, Swayman caption players going to arbitration

Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Ilya Samsonov and Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman are part of 22 National Hockey League players registered for salary arbitration.

Salary arbitration hearings will start on July 20^th and continue until August 4^th, as concrete dates for each player have yet to be shared. Players can still re-ink with their franchises before their hearing to avoid arbitration.

Ilya Samsonov is the only #Leafs player to file for arbitration.

The simple act of having a player file will open up a second buyout period for Toronto once the case is awarded or settled.

Samsonov inked a 1-year, 1.8 million dollar contract with Toronto in the summer of last year after the Capitals declined to qualify him.

Swayman finished his 2^nd full campaign in the league as he had to share the net with the 2023 Vezina Trophy champ Linus Ullmark.

Franchises can still file for arbitration with their eligible players, as they have less than 24 hours to do that.
