Liverpool’s 3-2 loss vs. Brentford was the “worst” of their 4-match losing streak in the EPL, according to head coach Arne Slot. The Merseyside team failed to build on their win against Eintracht in the UCL a few days ago, with the manager claiming their latest defeat was their worst compared to those against Palace, Chelsea, and Man United.
“You can’t compare defeats, but the hardest thing for me is that we lost 4 straight matches in the Premier League,” shared Liverpool’s boss after the match. “After the game, you can see what went wrong, and in my opinion, the clash against Brentford was our worst defeat. I will repeat it, conceding a set-piece and not scoring makes it extremely hard to win in this sport.
“We didn’t show the most basic things in the 1st half, and we also missed them at times during the 2nd.”
Slot added that Brentford won more duels than the Reds, and the same thing happened with second balls, and in the end, it is logical that his team lost their visit to London vs. the Bees.
🚨 Arne Slot: “The teams have a certain playing style against us, which is a very good strategy to play against us. And we have not found an answer yet”.
“Also, it’s not an excuse, but playing so many games away didn’t help”. pic.twitter.com/439FbqVsfG
