The fine that the goaltender will pay is the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement.
The episode happened last in the 3rd period of the weekend’s match between the 2 organizations when Jordan stuck out the handle of his stick and caught Luke up high as he skated around the St. Louis’ net. The Blues goaltender was given a 2-minute minor on the incident, with forward Pavel Buchnevich serving the punishment.
The Predators player netted earlier in the match on a partial breakaway that gave Nashville a 2-1 lead, and the Predators won the match 5-2.
Binnington made 28 saves in his team’s defeat on Saturday.
