Tyler Seguin, Colin Miller, Joe Pavelski and Luke Glendening all scored as Dallas moved to second place in the highly-contested Central Division with 94 points, a point off Division leaders Minnesota with 95 points.
“We came in and did what we had to do and got two points,” Stars coach Peter DeBoer said.
“We’re coming off a pretty poor effort, so that was much better effort by us.”
Dallas were in cruise control from the get-go and didn’t face much opposition from a toothless Chicago side, who have now lost their sixth successive game.
Goaltender Alex Stalok was rather busy having to stop 26 out 30 shots, whereas Jake Oettinger on the other end didn’t feel so pressured with 17 saves. In fact, it looked as if he wasn’t participating in the game, so much dominant were the Stars, and on the other hand, so much laclustre were the whole Chicago team.
“It was one of the few games this year when we just didn’t have skating legs,” Chicago coach Luke Richardson said.
