Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag expressed his optimism about the a new contract for Marcus Rashford.
Rumours have circulated Old Trafford whether the striker will stay with the club after his current contract expires in 12 months.
At the moment, both sides find themselves in heated negotiations as the club is fully determined to keep their star striker.
Rashford became the first United player to reach 30 goals for the past decade after he bagged the 4th goal in Chelsea’s rout, which secured the Red Devils Champions League spot.
The 25-year-old is enjoying his best ever campaign and has been prolific on numerous occasions especially after the World Cup.
That is why the Dutchman is keen his starlet signs a new deal.
“I expect Marcus Rashford to renew,” he told Viaplay. “He wants it. Manchester United wants it. He is a child of this club, so I assume this will happen.”
“I am happy that finally a player of Manchester United is able to score 30 goals again. But next year the numbers have to be higher.” he added.
