Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, was extremely dissatisfied with the refereeing in the match against Arsenal, lost by his team 1-3. He believes there were at least 3 wrong decisions that affected the outcome of the game – Garnacho’s disallowed goal, a missed penalty against Hojlund and a missed foul on Jonny Evans before the Gunners’ second goal was scored.
“There was no offside by Garnacho. The VAR looked at the situation from the wrong angle. We have to accept what happened, but from the right angle you can see that there was no offside. Then there was a missed penalty against Hojlund . Finally we got a goal where there was a foul on Jonny Evans, which was absolutely clear,” Ten Hag raged after the final whistle.
Otherwise, he praised his players for their performance in the match.
“I think our performance was good. We played a good game, but everything went against us. With a little more luck we could have won. Yes, one could say that we should have realized our situation, that we should not have conceded so easily equalizing after taking the lead. That’s true, but I think we took a step in the right direction in terms of our game.”
